A Savvy Event is an event planning and designing company located in wine country. Kelly McLeskey-Dolata started A Savvy Event in 2007 because she has always had a love for all things beautiful, fun, unique, creative and detailed. A Savvy Event does all types of events in and around the bay area. On the weekends and even weekdays we are planning and designing weddings, birthday parties, showers, anniversaries and just about every milestone event you can think of!
Kelly Dolata - Owner + Creative Director
Kelly founded A Savvy Event in 2007 with the belief that planning your wedding should be a fun and rewarding experience without the hassle. With a life-long love for throwing impeccable parties, her events are always fabulous and flawless from start to finish!
Having spent many years working for both The Ritz-Carlton Hotel Company & Fairmont Hotels and Resorts, Kelly established a high degree of integrity and communication with a commitment to excellence. Kelly’s background and study of interior design elevated her natural eye for detail, passion for beauty and flawless design sense.
Kelly is a proven professional with over 10 years of experience in planning, consulting and coordinating events in the corporate and wedding industries. Her weddings have been featured in numerous publications, including The Knot, Martha Stewart Weddings, SF Brides Magazine, 7x7SF, The Sonoma Wedding Guide and Wine Country Magazine. She has also been recognized in many of today’s top online wedding websites and Style Blogs. Most recently Kelly was described as “The Worlds Best Wedding Planner” on JuneBugWeddings.com. She has helped over 500 couples create unforgettable wedding day memories!

Meren - Event Planner
Meren’s passion and propensity for event planning was evident from a very young age. Meren embodies the distinct qualifications of a successful coordinator. Her peaceful nature and meticulous attention to detail can put even the most frenzied bride at ease!
She began her career in the event industry at the age of 16 and continued to develop her skills through a series of relevant positions. From interning and serving at multiple catering companies to acting as event manager at local venues, she worked her way up to assistant coordinator for several successful event planners before joining the A Savvy Event team.
Meren earned her Bachelor’s degree in Psychology with a minor in Hotel Restaurant Management from Northern Arizona University in May of 2008 before moving back to her hometown of Marin, CA.
Being a hopeless romantic, Meren has passion and enthusiasm for all things wedding…
Jill - Event Planner
Jill brings over 10 years of wedding and corporate planning experience to A Savvy Event. In addition, her extensive background in the culinary world lends itself to the Wine Country or Bay Area bride that wants help in developing creative and unique menus that reflect their personal style and zest.
Jill’s aptitude for throwing spectacular events knows no bounds! From the most intimate and traditional affair to the most over the top soiree, she can do it all! Planning a wedding or event that focus’ on the couple or guest of honor and who they are is what truly makes an unforgettable experience.
A hopeless romantic herself, Jill realizes that the most important element of a wedding is the love, commitment and union of two souls…and that is what keeps her coming back for more.
Jamie - Event Planner
Jamie Fields is a fifth generation San Franciscan that acknowledges her affection and slight bias in favor of the City by the Bay. Her native New Yorker husband is an incredibly supportive and understanding man. Jamie’s pride and joy is their gorgeous baby daughter, Chloe.
Jamie is a veteran of the hospitality industry with 10+ years experience. She began her career with New York’s B.R. Guest Restaurants, booking and managing events at such Manhattan hotspots as Blue Water Grill, Dos Caminos, Ruby Foo’s & Fiamma.
She continued her career pursuits at The Fairmont Hotel San Francisco atop Nob Hill. As manager of the Catering Group – Jamie drove business planning every aspect, from intake to close out, for all events, ranging from special awareness fundraisers, nonprofit functions, and political events, to corporate parties and grand weddings.
Jamie is a sucker for champagne toasts, towering cakes and first dances… She will organize your wedding from soup to nuts with confidence and enthusiasm.
Brittany - Event Planner
Brittany earned a Bachelors of Arts degree in Liberal Studies with the intention of working for a non-profit organization as an event planner. Brittany’s career began in the hospitality industry where she gained practical experience and a broad range of technical skills. She continued her education with an assignment in France, where she developed her affection for meticulously crafted events. “Living and working in such beautiful surroundings enhances your senses and overall awareness” and she returned with a new found appreciation for event planning and a focus on handcrafted weddings and children’s parties.
Brittany’s life took a drastic turn in 2010, when her unborn child was diagnosed with a rare gastrointestinal complication. With this formidable experience, Brittany’s passion for service in the nonprofit and public sector was renewed. She immediately began working with Avery’s Angels, which helps families with Children of Gastroschisis.
Brittany’s work at A Savvy Event focuses around her love for beautiful celebrations but also her commitment to education and service. Her incredibly caring spirit is evident in every project she pursues. Brittany currently lives in Santa Rosa with her husband Scott and their beautiful son Griffin.
Lisa - Marketing + PR
Lisa Hanson is a branding and marketing professional with over 13 years of experience pairing both established and start-up brands with top media outlets, innovators, and celebrities. A Los Angeles native, Lisa began her career in the entertainment industry in Public Relations on the set of Warner Brothers’, “EXTRA.” Her experience on the hit show propelled her into becoming a freelance TV producer, giving her the opportunity to work on some of television’s most successful and highest rated shows, including, “Celebrity Apprentice,” “The Bachelor,” “The Real World” and “America’s Next Top Model.”
Lisa’s ability to seamlessly pair brands with television networks led to cross-promotional marketing opportunities which leveraged her relationships with high-profile magazines such as US Weekly, OK! and Life & Style. From Red Carpet events to television shows to blogs and magazines, Lisa has worked and made a lasting impression among some of Hollywood’s finest A-Listers, including Victoria Beckham, Tyra Banks, Jennifer Lopez, and Hugh Hefner. Her clients’ various products have also made their way into the hands of dozens of shows including, NBC’s “Today Show, E!’s “The Girls Next Door,” ABC’s “The Bachelor” and ABC’s “Dancing with the Stars”.
Lisa’s creativity, her knack for thinking outside the box and her experience in production makes for a perfect transition into the world of Wedding & Event Planning! She and her husband reside in Marin County where they are raising their little boy, Holden.

Stacy Wichelhaus is the creative director for A Savvy Event as well as an event coordinator. Since joining the team in 2011, she has had the opportunity to work on several creative projects and her work has been featured on MSN and The Glitter Guide.
Stacy is a force to be reckoned with. When she is not tirelessly creating amazing content for our Blog, or helping generate inspiration for our team, she finds time to run her own company! She is the founder of Hello Cupcake LLC… providing a modern, fresh array of paper products and custom designs for the everyday Bride.
Stacy earned a degree in Journalism with an emphasis in Public Relations. She continues to expand her horizons and her brand by recently announcing the launch of Hello Cupcake Public Relations.
A newlywed herself, Stacy currently lives in San Francisco with her husband Christoph and their furry baby Ginger.
