Tuesday Highlights: BLR Lifetime Photography

This week we are highlighting the oh so talented Brittany Hanson from BLR Life Photography. Brittany recently relocated from Las Vegas about 3 years ago to Wine Country with her husband and three children. Brittany and her husband Eric (a videographer) absolutely love wine country and all it has to offer and couldn't imagine living anywhere else. They love the artistry and beauty in wine country and how unique and different each venue is.  We are so lucky to have them here. Since relocating to Wine Country Brittany has shot some amazing weddings and her style and talent is amazing! You just feel the emotions and her photographs tell the love story of her clients on their special day.

We had the pleasure of working with BLR a few weeks back at The Harvest Inn in St. Helena. It was such a gorgeous winter day and her images captured the day so perfectly. 

The vineyard terrace is such a gorgous location for your wine country ceremony. It overlooks Whitehall Lane Vineyards. 

Leah Lowery of FLAXX floral design, designed this gorgeous arch with blooming branches for the ceremony. The fabric draping the arch was used in the brides sisters wedding for something borrowed!

ASE: How did you get started in photography?

BLR: In my second year of college my husband told me to take a class just for fun. I took a photo 101 and was hooked. The next semester I moved to Denver to go to The Art Institute of Colorado to major in Photography. Best decision I ever made because I truly found what I love.

 
ASE: What do you love most about your job?

BLR: I love the challenge of catching those fleeting moments that make up people’s lives. 

ASE: What do you always carry with you when you are shooting?

BLR: Besides 9 lenses, 3 camera bodies and a couple of flashes. I carry bobby pins (for the bride if needed), umbrellas (even if it rains we are still shooting something outside) and my reflector ( I love natural light and this allows me to add light without artificial lighting)

ASE: What 3 things cannot you not live without?

BLR: Coffee, Wine and Virgin America

ASE: Where can we find Brittany in her spare time?

BLR: What is that?  I have three kids and a business so I don’t get a whole lot of it. When I do though, I practice yoga and catch up on my parenting research. My husband and I also love travel with our kids any chance we get.

ASE: What do you love about Wine Country Weddings?

BLR: The scenery of course but also the huge variety in venues. Every place I go has something special and unique about it. I have photographed all over the world and the light in wine country is unmatched. No matter what the season is, whether the mustard is blooming or the leaves are changing it is the perfect place for a wedding. Oh yah...... I love shooting when Kelly is the planner.
